As the ‘lockdown’ continues I thought you might like to know that we are still here! Not too much to report but nevertheless, there is some activity worth a mention.
Work is progressing on the ‘ancient orchard’ within the Three Fields Site. Rob Graham has been pruning the trees and Kevin Wright has been gathering the ‘cuttings’ ready for Rob to chip up. We are continuing to collect information about the trees; when they were planted, which varieties and trying to locate them precisely. This will be a puzzle that can be solved over the coming years as, for example, we send the apples for identification. If you have any information that can help throw light on the subject, please let us know.
With regard to the Hub building itself, well, understandably it has stalled but the MUCH group have been identifying possible additional funding sources and have been making enquiries. Perhaps more on that next month.
