November ’19 update

On the 12th of the month the MUCH general meeting was held.  The meeting covered a broad range of topics.  The draft notes of the meeting can be read here.

One item reported was the ‘Race Night’, organised and run by Sally Raggett.  As you can see from the picture the races are of 6 wooden horse being ‘wound in’ by the ‘jockeys’  The event was great family fun and raised around £700 for the group funds.  A larger hall, that could accommodate larger numbers (as planned for the Hub) could make these events bigger and better!  MUCH would like to thank the Race Sponsers; JW Rees Dental Surgery, Nathan Wixey of Fizzyblox Ltd, Geoff and Ben of Good Looking Gardens, Jon Beese of Satellite Finance and Rob & Pam Ollerton and all the people who bought horses for each race.

Further progress is being made with renovating the orchard.  The group would like to thank Rob Graham who has made a great start in clearing brambles and MCC for agreeing to remove the green waste.  Also, last Thursday (27th) the orchard was used for pruning training of the Elderflowers Group by Gwent Wildlife Trust. It’s great to see this community asset coming back to life again.

Finally, a reminder which you might have seen on our Facebook page, of the Christmas Mince Pie and Coffee Morning on Tuesday 3rd December, 10.30 at the Undy Memorial Hall.  All are welcome.  If you can give Sally a call or text on 07883 963816 or just turn up and hope that I haven’t ate all the pies!

And of course, we will have our usual stall, alongside the MAGOR group, at the Frost Fayre on December 7th!
