Back in February I suggested that we should look forward to the new financial year with a sense of optimism, in that the Community Hub could soon be a reality. Since then, working closely with Monmouthshire County Council, we have learnt that Welsh Government has offered a grant from The Economic Stimulus Fund that would close the funding gap. MCC has accepted the offer. This means that, although there are some ‘preliminaries’ to complete, we can expect to see the building of The Hub on the Three Fields Site commence later this year.
MUCH has representation on the project group and will provide regular updates to you as matters are progressed. We would also welcome feedback so that any issues can be taken account of.
This community requirement is long overdue and it’s perhaps a little sad that it has seemingly taken a pandemic to make it materialise but nevertheless we can look forward to an asset that I’m sure will be highly valued by our community of Magor with Undy.
