It finally happened . . .

After the cautious hint of optimism at the beginning of the year and the ‘still some preliminaries to complete’ comment in May’s post, I can now confirm that building of The Hub will commence at the end of this year or early next year.  Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) announced this very recently. You can read Councillor Phil Murphy’s (cabinet member for resources) comments on the news by clicking on the link here.

MUCH would like to thank the residents of Magor and Undy (and businesses) for their continued support over the last 5 years which has led to this wonderful achievement.  We would also like to thank the good officers of MCC, e.g. Mike Moran, Ben Thorpe, Jude Langdon and many others, who have worked tirelessly in helping to bring this about.

As we emerge from the pandemic, this new facility will come into its own in helping people to recover from the impacts of lockdowns and the various losses  that people have felt.

MUCH will continue to work with MCC as a stakeholder through the detailed planning and build stages and so will be pleased to carry resident’s views and comments through to the project.  We will also continue to raise funds for the fit-out of the building and the landscaping of the wider site.

Thank you once again.

Paul
